Psychic Evolution—An Archetypal Perspective
The concept of evolution, understood as the adaptive change of a species through time in response to environmental conditions, has been applied to many fields outside of biology where it originated. How can the notion of "evolution" be applied to the psyche? In particular, how might the concept of psychic evolution be understood from the perspective of Carl Jung's Analytical Psychology? In this series, the work of C.G. Jung and of Jungian analyst and scholar J.R. Haule will be examined in order to come to a clearer understanding of how the psyche evolves, and what this means for the ways we understand the collective unconscious.
