The Mindful Teaching of Thich Nhat Hanh
The great Vietnamese Buddhist monk, Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh, one of the two greatest influences on Buddhism in the 21st century. The other is His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Thich became a figure of global renown during the war in Vietnam, as a result of his steadfast commitment to building peace among all the peoples of Vietnam. His first book, Lotus in a Sea of Fire, introduced the ideal and practice of “engaged Buddhism,” the embrace of social and economic justice and universal human rights. Today, Thich lives in Plum Village in the Dordogne region of France. Over 90 years old, he remains the premier teacher of mindfulness in our age.
